Wine Descriptions For Your Reading Pleasure

Take a Wine-Tasting Tour While Yachting

Just think of it, the world of opulence and leisure: Youre on a luxury yacht. Youre sailing the ocean blue, not a care in the world. Youre being served a taste of different varietals of fine wines by waiters wearing white gloves and tuxedos with tails. Youre catching the scintillating scent of fresh sea air from your overstuffed chaise lounge on the yachts deck. Strawberries dipped in chocolate and truffles glide by on gleaming sterling-silver trays.

And guess what? Its not a dream! This can really happen to you! A wine-tasting tour on a luxury yacht is one of those once-in-a-lifetime opportunities any true wine connoisseur surely wouldnt want to pass up.

From the bright, sensuously sweet taste of chardonnay to a fuller cabernet blanc (for white wine aficionados) to a full-bodied, cherry-and-oak flavored merlot or pinot noir (for those who favor the reds,), youll enjoy sailing while dreamily sipping succulent wines on a special wine-tasting yacht tour set up to make you feel freshly pampered and safe.

Your yacht captain and crew will be fully trained in specialty tours like this one, and theyll be on hand to cater to your every whim, allowing you to sample wines from all over the world, testing your taste buds to the limit. Youll also learn how different varietals are made, processed, and stored until they reach their best-aged perfection. The delicacy of wine-making will be an education from start to finish, usually complete with a tour through the yachts wine cellar.

Usually, parties of 20 to 50 guests are on board most yachts specializing in wine-tasting, and you can be sure your meals will be well-coordinated to match the wine offerings.

The only questions you need bother answering are where and when you want to take your wine-tasting yachting trip. The Baltic, the Mediterranean and the Caribbean will definitely beckon, while some will want to stay closer to home base, just off the California coast.

For anyone whos ever wanted to book a decadent, theme-packed cruise on a luxury yacht, this just skims the surface of all the indulgent experiences youll remember for years to come and youll likely make several friends who are along for the ride!

Hattenheimer Deutelsberg Riesling Kabinett - Black Bottle

What a real treat for the lovers of our Black Bottle Kabinett from the famous Hans Lang Estate. This year's edition was harvested from the prized Deutelsbeg Vineyard in the prestigious town of Hattenheim. Winemaking can be traced back to Roman times but the real history of the Hattenheim Wine Industry begins in 1116 with the Cistercian Abbey of Kloster Eberbach. These monks kept a detailed record of their plantings (mostly Pinot Noir) that survives to this day. Hattenheim is also home some of the most renowned wine estates and restaurants in all of Europe. Annual gastronomy fairs are held in the Hattenheim Burg, a towered building that has dominated the center of Hattenheim since 1131. Hans Lang was very excited about this wine when he suggested we switch to this vineyard. After tasting the sample, Herr Lang had every reason to be enthusiastic. This is probably the finest Black Bottle Kabinett we have ever had. Tight and clean, this Riesling has an intensely floral nose with a hint of honey and almond. The balance between fruit and acidity is a signature of well made Rheingau wines. What a perfect way to kick off the New Year with this elegant and stylish Kabinett from one of Germany's top winemakers! You can buy this German white wine online! HDK04 HDK04

hi there. it looks like i am already back in the late night posting habit. just a couple of weeks into the semester and things have picked up so much... days packed full, a different full from last year... less reading and more running about, meetings, little this and thats to be packed in to every spare block on the calendar. these quiet late nights become a treasure after a long day. my mind unwinds, the body relaxes, things soften and blur around the edges.today i thought so much about th

Summer Wine & Dreamcatcher

My apologies for some blurry edges to these pictures. I went straight out after the rain halted but the wind picked up and there I was snapping away. I wonder if I'm obsessed because the season is coming to a close and the hard cold facts of a Canadian winter are going to be faced ? Is that why I baked carrot bread and oatmeal raisin cookies too ?There is a sneaky GREEN branch in my Summer Wine Ninebark .. the contrast was astounding and I had to take some pictures but I am wondering if I am sup

Get The Look:Vivica A. Fox Fashion Rocks 2008

Tue, 09 Sep 2008 07:00:00 PDT
Doesn't Viv look gorgeous? Black women have always been afraid of the color red. We're afraid that the blue undertones won't compliment our shades or it will make us look older. Vivica, however, has turned wine into her signature color, dousing her whole face in berry marmalade. Not only does her look revive old-Hollywood glamour with her hair, but this look gives this 44-year-old dime a standout, daring aura that scream, "I wish a young heifer would be dumb enough to think she looks better th

Cantina Tollo Cagiolo Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2005 Cantina Tollo Cagiolo Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2005 is the "Red Italian Varietal" Decanter International trophy winning wine of 2008. One of only 2 Italian wines to scoop an International Trophy beating out Nebbiolo and Sangiovese wines for this coveted title. Well, coveted-ish. There's no denying this is a fabulous wine, I tasted it and it's excellent, great structure, fruit and length but the best single varietal wine in Italy, against the 200
